Switch2 Supports Waist Not Want Not and South Lanarkshire Council with Festive Community Initiative
This Christmas, Switch2 Energy was proud to support a heart-warming community initiative alongside South Lanarkshire Council as part of their Waist Not Want Not charity wish.
As part of the partnership, Switch2 donated towards a special Santa’s Grotto event, ensuring children had the opportunity to visit Santa and take home a festive treat. The donation helped provide selection boxes giving children a memorable Christmas experience and easing some of the financial pressures often felt by families during the festive season.
Cathy Olphin, Sustainability Manager at Switch2, said:
“At Switch2, giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do. We're delighted to support Waist Not Want Not's Santa's Grotto event by providing selection boxes for local children to take home after meeting Santa.
We know the festive period can bring financial pressures for many families, and we're proud to play a small part in bringing Christmas joy to children across South Lanarkshire. It's community initiatives like this that make a real difference, and we're honoured to support such important work in the region.”
South Lanarkshire Council also shared their appreciation for the support:
“The children were delighted to see Santa and the parents were grateful that they got a free visit and gifted a selection box thanks to your kind donation. Many thanks for your support and kindness. It’s very much appreciated.”
Switch2 remains committed to supporting meaningful community initiatives that make a positive difference where we work. Partnering with organisations like Waist Not Want Not and local authorities such as South Lanarkshire Council allows us to help create lasting, positive impacts, especially during times of year when support is needed most.
We’re proud to have played a small role in spreading Christmas joy and look forward to continuing to support community-focused projects in the future.
